The Mowbray River Bridge on the Capt Cook Hwy is just to the south of Port Douglas and on a low tide during the winter months a 3 metre long Saltwater Crocodile can be regularly seen from the bridge as you drive over it. Just south of the bridge is short road that takes you to the old road bridge where you can stop your car and see it properly, see video below.
